'Spring forward, Fall back.'

'Spring forward, Fall back'.

I'm all for bright nights....

Well actually if pushed to make a decision I prefer the nights that get dark at 4 pm so I can close the curtains without the neighbours thinking I'm a hermit.  Yes, those are the best!

Bright nights really throw off any routine I have managed to scrape together over the previous 5 months.  I realise its not cool to admit this but such is life.  When you work from home, have 4 children under 8 and your business partner is your mum, you require routine.  It will be the only thing that keeps you sane!

I would love to hear how other work at home peeps (I'm trying to regain my coolness am I succeeding?) set out their days.  Do you require routine? Do you set up a timetable? Are you a list writer? I love a good list me! Oh, oh and a white board on the cupboard door, love it!

Don't worry though I will regain control, a routine will be forged out of madness here.  Knowing me though it will be perfected just in time for the clocks to go back!

  1. Hi Ruby & Rose.

I am a full time self employed jeweller who works entirely from home. I used to have a studio in the city centre when I lived in Scotland but now I have a workshop in my garage. I find it really tough to focus so I recently started used Gantt planners to plan out my weeks, months and year. I also have a massive diary that I write down daily tasks in and I have two white boards with task written on them! I wrote a blog post recently about my working practice. Let me know what you think?
